PANIC IN CENTRAL PARK

Truly one of the best episodes of television of all time. And I’m not just saying this! Critics agree!!!!! It is ART! HIGH ART!

There is a lot of debate about what a “bottle” episode of television really is. In theory, a bottle episode is supposed to be a fully contained episode of TV where the happenings in the episode have no affect on what happens to the rest of the season. So technically, by that definition this is not a true bottle episode. BUT that doesn’t mean that it still won’t pop up on every “greatest bottle episodes of all time” list.

We open with Marnie and Desi fighting, Desi up to his normal BS of cheesy lines “open up to me Bella! You recoiled from my touch!” and suicide threats, but as Marnie so eloquently said, “you are far too narcissistic to kill yourself”.

Christopher Abbet ultimately said that he wanted to go pursue other roles, which ended up being the low performing Catch 22 TV show on Hulu, and vowed to never come back. But he agreed to come back for one special episode and THANK GOODNESS HE DID. They kept his appearance under wraps, so for everyone who was watching in real time, his cameo was extremely surprising. Here’s a quick video of Lena Dunham talking about some of the issues she had with Christopher Abbot.
